An Arts Collective « 2021

︎ Branding, Website Design

My Role: Graphic Designer, Logo Designer, Website Designer

Programs Used: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
Creative Team: Carlos López Estrada, Kelly Marie Tran, Marquesha Babers, Hanna Harris, and Marcus James

POETIC is a collective of Los Angeles-based poets and artists from various communities aligned in the values of storytelling, empathy, and social impact. Over the summer of 2019, the poets collaborated with Carlos López Estrada on the Sundance film Summertime. Following the theatrical release of the film and their work on the Summertime Impact Campaign with Executive Producer Kelly Marie Tran, the artists formed a collective as a way to continue their collaboration, maintain autonomy over their work, and provide meaningful community education. The collective was founded by Marquesha Babers, Hanna Harris, Marcus James, Kelly Marie Tran, and Carlos López Estrada, in August 2021.

I was commissioned to create the logo, website, and social media infographics to launch the collective. The website is live at wearepoetic.com

Logo variations I designed and pitched to the team. We wanted the collective’s brand identity to be cool and appealing to young poets. The team liked option 3 of the 6 intial designs I developed best, so I came up with more spacing variations and we settled on the final logo (left option 6)
